Houston school closures tomorrow: Weather cancellations, delays due to Texas Arctic Blast
Business Closures
- All Harris County Tax Office locations will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Tax Office customers may still conduct business online at www.hctax.net. These services include paying property taxes, registering to vote, and renewing automobile registrations.
- The Houston Zoo will be closing early at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, Jan 15, and will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16. All non-member ticket holders may reschedule their Zoo visit by emailing group.reservations@houstonzoo.org.
- All Brazos County offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, for non-essential personnel. Commissioners Court has been canceled for this week. All posted agenda items will be carried over to January 23.
- Fort Bend County Justice Center and Precinct 1 Courts will be closed on Tuesday, January 16.
- Harris County Toll Road Authority EZ Tag stores and administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16
- Trill Burgers closed on Tuesday, January 16
- All BakerRipley Community Schools, BakerRipley Head Start Centers, BakerRipley Community Centers, and BakerRipley Senior Health and Wellness Centers closed on Tuesday, January 16
- All Harris County Public Library locations will be closed on Tuesday, January 16
- Polk County offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16
- Port Houston terminals will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. Bayport and Barbours Cut Container Terminals as well as the Turning Basin Terminal Truck Office will resume normal operations on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
- City of Houston Municipal Courts will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. Resets will be given in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning on Wednesday, January 17
- Fort Bend County offices, courts, and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. All scheduled court dockets for the day and jury services are canceled
- Harris County jury service canceled for Tuesday, January 16.
- Texas Department of Public Safety offices closed - Brazoria, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Waller, and Wharton. All other offices in the southeast region will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m.
- Legacy Community Health Clinics will be closed on Tuesday, January 16. All telehealth appointments will continue on Tuesday as planned.
- Harris Health closing freestanding outpatient health centers and clinics, the Ambulatory Surgical Center at LBJ Hospital and administrative offices at Fournace Place in Bellaire for Tuesday, Jan. 16. However, all specialty and same-day clinics located on hospital campuses will open with a delayed start of 9 a.m. The Harris Health Dialysis Center at Quentin Mease will open with a delayed start of 7 a.m. All patients who have appointments will be contacted to reschedule.
