Hempstead crash: Authorities on scene of deadly car-pedestrian crash in Houston

HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department is on the scene following a deadly car-pedestrian crash on Friday evening. 

Details are limited, but officials said the crash occurred in the 14700 block of Hempstead.

Officials said a man was in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle. 

Police said the driver stopped to render aid when the pedestrian was struck by a second vehicle. 

The driver of the second vehicle, who police said was a white truck, fled the scene.
