HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The tables were turned on a carjacker in northwest Harris County when the victim pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect, authorities say.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at a Walgreens on Antoine Drive.
Deputies say the victim was sitting in the passenger seat when the suspect got in on the driver’s side and acted like he had a gun, pointing it at the victim and telling him to get out of the car. Investigators say that’s when the victim pulled out his own gun and shot the suspect once in the abdomen.
The suspect was taken to the hospital and is in surgery. Officials say he is expected to survive.
The suspect is expected to face charges, the sheriff's office says.
