Deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to the 7900 block of Atwood Hills Lane around 11:40 p.m. after neighbors called to report hearing gunshots.

They arrived to find a man dead in front of a home. The sheriff’s office identified him as 24-year-old Ramard Wright.

The Harris County Sheriffs Office investigates a deadly shooting on Atwood Hills Lane.

Officials say constable deputies detained his brother Ranard Wright, the 37-year-old homeowner Eric Spears and a 23-year-old woman.

Investigators with the HCSO Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene.

According to the sheriff’s office, investigators determined that the woman was living at the house with Spears but had left after an argument earlier in the evening.

Investigators say she later came back with her ex-boyfriend and his brother.

When Spears came out of the house, investigators say a gunfight began, and Ramard was shot and killed.

The sheriff’s office says Ranard then grabbed his brother’s pistol and shot at the homeowner as the homeowner retreated into his house.

Ranard was charged with aggravated assault for shooting at Spears after he went into his house, the sheriff’s office says.

The shooting death of Ramard Wright will be presented to a grand jury.

Authorities say Spears was arrested on an unrelated outstanding felony warrant.
