3 people shot at Harris County apartment complex
A Harris County community is shaken up after a shootout sent three people to a hospital, including a 3-year-old. FOX 26's Abigail Dye has more details from the scene with Harris County authorities.
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Harris County authorities are investigating a shooting in northwest Houston on Wednesday which sent three to the hospital, including a 3-year-old girl.
Harris County Sherriff's Lt. Robert Schields says an adult female and adult male also went to the hospital.
They say their preliminary investigation shows that a man cam to the apartments where the mother and daughter lived. In the altercation, he shot the two and someone shot him in the process.

He says they believe multiple people fired shots, they’re not sure who or how many at this point. He says they did recover an AR on the scene.

"They self-admitted that it was a set-up robbery. It was a dope rip and mother had knowledge of that," he said.
Tyasia Morgan lives in the apartment above the apartment where this all happened. She says she got a call from her 9-year-old daughter about it.
"My daughter called me and my sister called me because they heard a bunch of gunshots, my daughter is terrified she's hiding in the bathtub," she said. "It's just traumatic and that could scar her. She could be really scared looking around, she's only 9."
Officials say they believe the suspect dumped his black sedan at a nearby Chevron and then made his way to a nearby urgent care.

They say he left the urgent care and transported himself to the hospital. The mother and child made their way to a hospital as well.
All three sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
