Major crash after Harris County chase

Chaos on a Houston area highway. A timelapse video shows the Hardy Toll Road shut down in north Harris County for hours after a crash following a police chase. The suspect was driving the wrong way going 100 miles per hour. FOX 26's Matthew Seedorff has more from the scene.

Harris County law enforcement has shut down lanes of Hardy Toll Road after a chase ended in a crash.

Constable Mark Herman's office reports constable deputies were in a pursuit with a driver around 2:46 p.m. going eastbound in the 1600 block of Louetta Road.

Officials say the driver refused to stop even though the car had a flat tire.

According to Herman, the car lost control at 18000 Hardy Toll Road and Rankin and crashed while driving southbound.

At least three cars were hit head on and at least one person was seriously injured.

Southbound lanes of the Hardy Toll Road were shut down for hours and have reopened as of 9:30 p.m.

Harris County authorities have not released what started this chase.
