Officials discuss task force shooting

A man was shot by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force while they were executing a warrant in east Harris County on Tuesday morning, officials say.
The man was taken to the hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition. No law enforcement officers were injured.
The shooting occurred around 6 a.m. in the 100 block of Black Walnut Drive.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says members of the task force – which consists of local, state and federal authorities – went to the home to executive the drug-related warrant.

A male was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he was shot by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in east Harris County.
Authorities say a team approached the front door, knocked and announced themselves as members of police departments, but received no response.
According to the sheriff’s office, task force members then breached the door and encountered the suspect, who had a weapon.
Authorities say a member of the U.S. Marshals and a sheriff’s deputy fired their weapons. The man was struck.
Authorities say the officers’ shield was struck by at least one round, but no officers were hurt.
An investigation is conducted after a male was shot by law enforcement.
The wounded man was taken to the hospital in critical condition and taken into surgery. He was last reported to be in stable condition.
Officials say six other people, including children, were also in the house at the time of the incident, but they were not injured.
Multiple agencies are investigating the shooting incident.
