Harris County dive team finds body of man who went missing in water in Magnolia Gardens area: sheriff

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A dive team has recovered the body of a man who went missing after going underwater in east Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says.

Harris County Sheriff's Office units and the dive team responded to the Magnolia Gardens area on Sunday evening in the 17700 block of Riverside Drive, near the San Jacinto River.

The sheriff said a man, believed to be around 24 years old, disappeared beneath the water’s surface and did not resurface.

Sheriff Gonzalez said the man’s body was recovered later that night.
