HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his stepbrother with a crossbow in northeast Harris County on Wednesday evening.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Tim Lee Ehrlich, 45, was charged with aggravated assault.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 20700 block of Live Oak.
The Harris County Sheriffs Office investigates an incident involving a crossbow.
The sheriff says there was a disturbance between Ehrlich and his 52-year-old stepbrother that escalated.
"It appears that the argument may have started over a car battery, and it escalated, obviously into some type of physical situation where one of the brothers potentially fearing that the other one was going to attack him, retrieved a crossbow and was able to fire a single shot at his stepbrother, wounding him in his upper torso," Sheriff Gonzalez said Wednesday night.
The wounded man was taken to the hospital by Life Flight and was last reported to be in serious, but stable, condition.
Ehrlich was detained at the scene and later charged in the incident.
