Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis puts in place a plan that will keep the memory alive of those who were lynched in Harris County.

There are at least four people who lost their lives as a result of racism in this community from a period between 1877 to 1950, but that's just Harris County for that window.

The state of Texas had just under 500 lynchings. There are at least 4,400 racially-motivated lynchings that have been recorded and verified around the country, but Commissioner Ellis is now making sure those victims get recognized here in Harris County with historical markers.
