Harris County arrest: Teen charged with man's murder on Bridgestone Pine Ct

A teen has been charged with murder in the death of a man who was reportedly robbed in the driveway of his Harris County home on Thursday, authorities say.

Jose Soto, 17, has been arrested and charged with murder. He’s accused in the death of 39-year-old Dat Truong.

Man killed outside Harris County home

The Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office responded to a report of a robbery in the 22100 block of Bridgestone Pine Court around 3:25 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies found a man, later identified as Truong, unresponsive in his driveway. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene. Authorities say they spoke to witnesses and collected evidence that identified two male suspects in a white sedan in connection to the incident.

Detectives located and interviewed Soto, who was later charged in the case. The sheriff’s office says he admitted to his involvement.

Truong’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed. The sheriff says he possibly sustained a head injury but did not have gunshot wounds. An autopsy will be conducted.

Search for a second suspect

Authorities are actively searching for a second suspect, who has not yet been identified.
