HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A suspect has been taken to the hospital following an officer-involved shooting in Harris County.
According to Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable Kenneth "Rowdy" Hayden, deputies observed a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 59 in Montgomery County.
Hayden said deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and failed to yield, leading police on a high speed chase with speeds up to 130 miles per hour swerving in and out of traffic.
Hayden said he believes that the suspect made contact with a couple of citizens, and they are waiting for them to come forward.

Hayden stated the vehicle came to a stop at the Fuel Max inside Harris County.
Deputies attempted to make contact with the driver, who authorities said is a Honduran national, reversed toward the deputy. In an attempt to disable the vehicle, the deputy shot at the vehicle's tires, but was unsuccessful.

Officials said the deputy feared for his life one more time when the vehicle actually drove toward the deputy and fired again.
The vehicle was able to get back on the freeway (Highway 59) where it finally crashed out and came to a stop.

When the vehicle was stopped, authorities said they approached the vehicle and found the suspect was inside with a razorblade, cutting his arms,
The deputies were able to stop him and took him into custody. He was later taken to the hospital.
