French Legion of Honor awards given in a special way
The French Consul General in Houston is making house calls to hand deliver the prestigious Legion of Honor Award after this year's ceremony was canceled due to the pandemic.
GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas - Every year on D-Day the prestigious French Legion of Honor is awarded to veterans for their service during World War II helping to liberate France.
When the pandemic caused this year's ceremony to be canceled, the Consul General of France in Houston decided to deliver the awards personally so the heroes did not have to wait to receive the honor.
