Pearland police officers responded to a Walmart parking lot after receiving reports of a man firing a gun. Officers said they tried to talk to the man, but he pointed a gun at them. They opened fire and shot him.

This year, two children have died after being left in a hot car. Some car manufacturers are implementing new technology to remind parents to check the back seat.

The family of an Omni Houston employee who drowned in the hotel's basement during Hurricane Harvey is suing the hotel.

Police said the man accused of running down and killing his ex-girlfriend has confessed and is currently in custody. Rigoberto Caballero Escobar is charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
