Former Houston City Council Member, mayoral candidate Peter Brown dies at age 81

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston City Controller Chris Brown released the following statement on his public Facebook page on Tuesday:

After a long battle with cancer, my dad, former Houston City Council Member Peter Brown passed away at the age of 81 early this morning. A loving father, committed public servant, and fearless advocate, Dad passed on to the next life the same way he lived in this one – surrounded by his family in the city he loved most.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and asks for privacy during this very difficult time.
