Fighting human trafficking

A Houston man who police say is a violent pimp and human trafficker is behind bars tonight.

Police say 27-year-old Marquis Holmes forced at least 10 women into prostitution, pimping them out in hotels and on the streets – not only in Houston but throughout Texas and the United States.

Police say if the women didn't make at least $1,500 a day they faced violent consequences. Police say Holmes beat them, strangled them, threatened their kids, and even ran over one woman with a car. One woman eventually called police.

Joining us on the Factor to discuss the pimp of Houston is Annie McAdams, an attorney and human trafficking expert; Kathryn Griffin Grinan, also a human trafficking expert with Precinct 1 in Harris County; and Zyon Johnson, a young women who knows what it's like to have a pimp in the past.
