The family of a security guard killed while on duty just days before Christmas pleads for help in catching the second suspect charged with capital murder.

Police are on the hunt for 21-year-old Jonathan Vasquez.  They do have his friend Daniel Moreno in custody.  The family of 71-year-old Saul Cruz say the men robbed them of a husband, grandfather and family bread winner.

Elsa Montano described in Spanish losing the love of her life Saul Cruz.  Her granddaughter Brianna Henriquez translated her words in Spanish.

“He was a good guy and he helped everybody. He never was angry or mad. And she said the people who killed him ‘why can't they just work, instead of robbing and killing somebody?” Henriquez said

Surveillance video from the convenience store on the 4700 block of Anderson shows when Cruz was gunned down.  Police say he was killed with an AK47 and the two suspects took off with Cruz’s gun.  Homicide investigators say from tips from Crime Stoppers they arrested 22-year-old Daniel Moreno.  He’s charged with capital murder.  Police now need help in finding Vasquez.

“You can please help us find the second suspect, cause you never know when you go through something like this and you need someone to please say something,” Henriquez said.

Meanwhile the victim’s family begs for justice as they remember a man, they say, always went the extra mile to help others.

“He was a big part of our family. He was the joy in our family. He was a very happy person, lively person. He was very generous always helped everybody,” Rosario Henriquez said.

Police say there is a chance Vasquez may have fled the country.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers 713-222-TIPS
