Family mourns death of teen murdered
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A family and community mourning the death of a 16-year-old boy found Monday morning, and tensions are high because the family says they know his killer.
16-year-old Ryan Roberts’ body was found Monday morning at 4100 Holmes Road.
Christina Roberts, his mother, said she was heartbroken when she found out her son had been murdered. He had been missing since Friday. Before she got the official word from Houston Police, a neighbor gave her the devastating news--news that he’d kept to himself since Friday.
“He sat there and said that it killed him because his life was threatened and it just killed him he couldn’t sleep or anything, he had to tell us, said Roberts.
Roberts said that neighbor, a friend of her son, described what he believed happened to Ryan and was afraid of his alleged killer. Details from one friend, accusing another friend, of her son’s murder led police to the location of Ryan’s body.
“We did get some information provided to us by a tipster about who may have done this and we’re following up on that information now and hopefully in the next day or two make an arrest in this case,’ said Lt. John Zitzmann of the Houston Homicide Division.
HPD has not named a person of interest and no one is in custody at this time.
