US Coast Guard seizes and offloads 29,000+ pounds of cocaine in San Diego
On Tuesday, November 19, the US Coast Guard offloaded more than 29,000 pounds of cocaine in San Diego, seized from 11 drug-smuggling vessels.
SAN DIEGO - The United States Coast Guard said they have offloaded over 29,000 pounds of cocaine in San Diego on Tuesday as a result of 11 drug-smuggling vessel interdictions.
The Coast Guard released footage showing crew members proceeding with one of the 11 interdictions, which took place throughout September and October, in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
The crew is part of the Coast Guard Cutter Munro.

The cocaine is estimated to be worth $335.8 million.
"The Eastern Pacific is a challenging environment – both operationally and logistically," Rear Admiral Joseph Buzzella, commander of Coast Guard District Eleven said. "The transit zone is a vast area of ocean to cover, far from home. Despite the challenges, the success of the Munro’s crew highlights the importance of what we do on the high seas."
