Donald Trump's second term to bring sweeping immigration changes, mass deportations on first week

President-elect Donald Trump is set to officially take office for a second term on January 20, with promises of sweeping changes to immigration and border security on day one.

Throughout his election campaign, Trump emphasized drastic changes at the border if elected. Reports of mass deportations are expected in the coming days, confirmed by his border czar, Tom Homan, in an interview with Fox News Live.

Mass deportations, executive orders signed on day one

What they're saying:

"They’re going to be targeted operations," Homan said. "When ICE goes out, they’re going to know exactly who they’re looking for and pretty much where they’ll find them. It’s a well-planned operation. They’ll know who is possibly in the household, including children."

The Trump administration has stated its focus on making America safe and secure. Despite opposition from many sanctuary cities, Trump is determined to proceed with his plans.

"We’re going to do this with or without their help," Homan said. "I’m sure we’ll be sued, but bring it. They’re not going to stop us. They’re not going to bully us from doing this job. The American people are demanding safer communities. ICE under President Trump is going to give them safer communities."

What they're saying:

Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan stated that illegal migrants not only violate the law by entering the country unlawfully but also commit crimes once inside. "To enter the country illegally is a crime. Then to commit a crime against a U.S. citizen, President Trump has had it. He has no patience. We’re going to start this operation. We’re going to fulfill the mandate the American people gave him on election day," Homan said.

FOX 26's Jonathan Mejia will be in Eagle Pass, providing special coverage of Trump's inauguration day from the southern border.
