A man is dead after he was hit by two vehicles on the I-10 East Freeway in Houston on Thursday morning, police say.

The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the westbound mainlanes near Lockwood Drive.

A deadly crash reported on the East Freeway at Lockwood Drive.

Police say the man was in the mainlanes when he was struck by a tractor-trailer and then a Dodge Challenger.

According to HPD, both drivers remained at the scene, were questioned, determined not to be impaired and released.

Traffic was shut down while police investigated the crash, but the lanes reopened before 7 a.m.
