Construction worker killed in Dickinson after boom truck collapses

DICKINSON, Texas - Authorities are on the scene investigating after a construction worker was killed in Dickinson on Tuesday afternoon. 

Details are limited, but officials said the incident happened just before 2 p.m. at 3400 Gulf Freeway on I-45 at FM 517.

Officials said they received a 911 emergency call regarding a boom truck collapsing and striking one of the workers.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a construction worker who died.

Officials stated there were no traffic issues at this time, except the area where the construction worker was hit. 

The identity of the construction worker has not yet been released by officials.
