HOUSTON - Fears surrounding coronavirus are growing nationwide. Officials have issued emergency health declarations due to Coronavirus COVID-19.
As a result, many events are canceled, and clinics and schools are closing. You can find the full list below.

- Channelview ISD has canceled classes and activities through Friday, April 10.

COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES
- Brazosport College will be closed during the week of March 16. Beginning March 23, classes will be offered online or through alternative formats until further notice.
- College of the Mainland will move to online instruction starting Monday, March 23
- Galveston College will resume classes online Monday, March 23
- Houston Baptist University will not hold residential classes for the week of March 16-21. Online classes will continue as scheduled. The residential class schedule will resume remotely (online or alternative format) beginning March 23 until further notice.
- Houston Community College is extending Spring Break by two additional days and will not resume until March 25.
- Lone Star College is extending Spring Break. Currently, all LSC facilities are closed to students until April 13. Online classes that started before spring break will resume March 23. The college also canceled all spring 2020 graduation ceremonies, which were scheduled to take place on May 6-9.
- Rice University will transition to fully remote instruction for all classes for the remainder of the semester, effective March 23, and undergraduate residential colleges will be closed to most students after March 25.
- San Jacinto College will begin altered operations on Monday, March 23 at all campuses. All general education courses will be delivered online for the remainder of the Spring semester. All technical courses will be delivered through a combination of online and face-to-face by appointment, and in groups of no more than 10 people total. Students will be contacted by their individual faculty member with details. College staff will work remotely unless otherwise directed by their leader beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020.
- Sam Houston State University has extended spring break through March 22. Beginning March 23, SHSU will move courses to remote delivery for the remainder of the spring semester.
- South Texas College of Law cancels all classes, begins online instruction on March 12. Administrators will reevaluate after spring break, March 16-20.
- Texas A&M University in College Station cancels class from March 16 - 20 and moves classes online from March 23 - April 28.
- Texas Southern University is extending online instruction for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.
- The University of Houston will be closed the week of March 16. Classes will resume online on March 23. Spring 2020 commencement is postponed. The university will begin planning for a late summer or early fall commencement as soon as health conditions and guidelines allow.
- The University of Houston-Clear Lake classes will not be held from March 16 - 21. Beginning March 23, classes will be offered remotely until further notice.
- The University of Houston Downtown is suspending all classes from March 16-22, and students should not go to the campus. All course-related activities scheduled between March 23 and April 4 will be conducted online. By April 4, UHD will assess whether to continue conducting instruction online.
- The University of Houston-Victoria and UHV Katy will start its spring break early at noon March 12. Spring break begins March 16.
- The University of St. Thomas has canceled classes beginning noon March 12 and will resume online on March 23.

Dozens of school districts close, large gatherings discouraged
Dozens of school districts in the Houston area closing and local officials are encouraging the public to avoid large gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
MALL CLOSURES
The Simon Property Group has shut down all its malls in the Houston metro area.
This includes the Galleria Mall, Katy Mills Mall, and Houston Premium Outlets.

- Alief ISD will be closed Friday, March 13, before the start of spring break.
- Clear Creek ISD CCISD will be closed March 16 - 20.
- Conroe ISD will be closed March 16-20.
- Cornerstone Christian Academy in Fort Bend will be closed through March 20.
- Dickinson ISD will be closed March 16 - 20.

- Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has been canceled.
- Lakewood Church moves worship services online.
- Harris County District Clerk cancels jury duty through end of March. Those who had jury duty during this time do not need to report or reschedule.
- District Courts of Galveston County are suspending and delaying all non-essential proceedings, including jury trials, effective Monday, March 23, through the end of April.
- All Houston city-sponsored events through end of March are canceled or postponed.

- MD Anderson cancels Community Relations participation at educational events like health fairs.
- Montgomery County Sheriff's Office suspends jail visitation.
- Space Center Houston will be closed March 15 - 27. The space center says it is acting out of an abundance of caution. It will continue to pay salaried and hourly staff during the closure.
NATIONAL EVENTS
- Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, the XFL, the English Premier League and the Professional Golf Association have either suspended upcoming games and matches or barred fans from attending due to the coronavirus. Click here to see the full list.
- Major music festivals, conferences and celebrations across the country have been canceled or postponed. Click here to see the full list.
- Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is suspending operations beginning at the close of business on March 15 through the end of the month.
- Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will be closed beginning March 14 through the end of the month.
- Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas in Texas have temporarily suspended operations until the end of March, at which time they will re-evaluate the situation.
- UIL announced that the Texas boys state basketball tournament has been suspended “until further notice” due to concerns about the coronavirus.
