Car crashes into guardrail, catches fire, driver dies
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Deputies are investigating a deadly accident where a driver was speeding and crashed a car into a guardrail in northeast Harris County, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
The accident was reported at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday when the vehicle crashed on Homestead Road near Winfield Road.
The car caught fire and the driver was unable to escape. An autopsy is needed to determine the gender and identity of the driver. The northbound lanes of Homestead Road were closed for several hours during the Harris County Sheriff's Office investigation.
