Candidate for Precinct 1 Constable fired from that office in 2012
HOUSTON - Come election day Joe Danna hopes to become the new Precinct 1 Constable.
Danna was fired from his job as a deputy constable for Precinct 1 on November 12th 2012.
“At the time I was chief deputy here,” said Precinct 1 spokesman J.C. Mosier who remembers Danna’s firing.
He says the County Attorney’s Office started an investigation after Danna told the court he served court papers to Nikesha Nicole Williams on August 1st 2011.
“She said she was never served the papers by anyone,” Mosier said.
The court summons Williams never got was for a child custody case.
“She certainly could have lost her child and may have,” Mosier said.
According to his termination letter Danna indicated to the court that he had served Williams at 6:33 a.m. at 5500 Desoto apt 3710 on August 1st 2011.
But according to the termination letter apartment 3710 was vacant on August 21st 2011 and had been vacant since early 2010.
“And the woman had not lived there in that apartment where he came to serve her for about 2 years,” said Mosier.
Whatsmore the termination letter states Williams was in jail from June 13th 2011 through August 23rd 2011 making it impossible for Danna to serve her.
“He was adamant to the final day the day that he was terminated that he did serve her,” said Mosier.
Danna’s termination letter states, “because of the investigation revelations and the fact that the citation was not served as you represented…your employment should be terminated effective immediately.”
We asked Joe Danna repeatedly to talk to us about the termination letter and he replied,” No comment.”
Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen declined to comment since he was not an employee of Precinct 1 at the time of Danna’s firing.
