The sheriff’s office says a couple walking their dog flagged down a deputy and said they found what they thought was a body.
The deputies responded to the area and found a decomposing body in a suitcase.
SUGGESTED: 2-year-old run over by car, killed while playing in parking lot
The sheriff’s office says the body is in an advanced state of decomposition, and they couldn’t immediately tell if it was that of a male or female or their person’s age. It’s also not clear how they died.
Residents in the area tell FOX 26 they are concerned and disturbed by Monday morning's discovery.
"They need to put up streetlights so that way people can stop using this as a dumping ground because that's what it is now a dumping ground," says Patrick who's a resident in the area.

Even as a man living in the area, Patrick says he's concerned for your safety and the increasing crime. Someone even put up a sign asking people to please stop shooting because bullets have gone through their son's window.

"They found a gun down there just sitting there by the field and somebody reported it," he explained. "This washeteria, they broke in several times. The other day a student from the school district where I work he got killed right here in the parking lot. They shot him here, and he went out in the street and collapsed."
The Medical Examiner is performing an autopsy on the remains discovered to determine what happened to the person, how old they are and who they are. Investigators tell me once they have those answers that will help lead them to who put the person in a suitcase and discarded them in a North Harris County field.
