Harris County dive team find submerged vehicle empty after passenger suspected to be inside

Harris County authorities searched a neighborhood pond for a passenger possibly inside a submerged vehicle in the Spring area.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reports the dive team responded to the 7100 block of Avalon Bend Circle after a girlfriend called authorities to say her boyfriend might have been inside the vehicle she was driving when it went underwater.

The dive team investigated the submerged vehicle in the Lakes of Avalon neighborhood pond and nobody was found inside the vehicle. After their search, the vehicle was pulled from the water.

Constable deputies arrested the girlfriend for driving while intoxicated when they got to the scene.

Sheriff Gonzalez reports this is the same neighborhood authorities were at Thursday investigating a body found in a different pond nearby.
