HOUSTON - Houston Astros fans are packing their bags and flying to Boston for Game 3 of the ALCS.
The series is currently tied one to one.
In just a few hours, Susan Welbes will be one of many Astros fans flying to Boston to watch the Astros take on the Red Sox. Welbes will be attending games 3, 4 and 5 in Boston.
"I'm feeling okay. I'm not feeling as good as I was after Friday night's game, but you know, we just need to win one in Fenway and we'll get back to Houston," Welbes said.
Saturday’s game with the Red Sox’ historic two grand slams in two innings at Minute Maid Park was brutal to watch, particularly for Welbes, an Astros season ticket holder since been 2004.
Welbes has traveled to majority of the playoff games since 2017 and says it's the reason she knows the kind of flack to expect at Fenway Park this week.
"We just wanted to go and see a great baseball game. I know we're going to get grief. It's going to be fun it's going to be wild it's going to be packed," Welbes said.
Like many other fans, Welbes inherited her love of the Astros from her family.
But this playoff season will be one she hopes the team wins in honor of her mother, who passed away on September 30th.
"September 30 is the day that the Astros clinch so I kind of think that maybe mom had something to do with that. I know that she's watching, and I know they're going to good," Welbes said.
Game 3 of the ALCS is scheduled for Monday night in Boston.
