"He didn’t deserve what they did to him," said Daniel’s mother Erica Sanchez.  "It just seems like it’s not real.  Like, I’m having a bad dream, a nightmare that I can’t wake up from."

Erica says Daniel had 4 brothers and a whole life ahead of him.

"It’s been really hard right now on everybody," said Sanchez. "He had a lot of goals and a lot of things planned for his future that he didn’t even get to do."

Authorities say Daniel had been meeting someone in the apartment’s parking lot of Red Bluff. However, something went wrong and Daniel was shot and killed.  Sanchez believes as many as 4 people could have been involved.

"I guess there was an altercation and they started shooting," said Sanchez.  "But, from what I heard, it was that person and 3 other males."

New surveillance pictures show a silver 2016 - 2019 Nissan Sentra leaving the area.  Authorities say this could be the getaway car used following the deadly shooting.

"I’ll never get my son back," said Sanchez.  "I’ll never be able to see him again.  Hug him. Kiss him.  I hope they’re caught soon."
