Angleton gas leak: Evacuation, shelter in place lifted for areas after natural gas leak

Evacuation and shelter in place orders have been lifted in Angleton following a gas leak on Tuesday night.

According to the Angleton Office of Emergency Management, there was a natural gas leak reported at East Murray Street and South Anderson.

Fire and police department officials responded to the scene and shut down South Anderson.

Residents along the red line in the picture above, were asked to evacuate. Residents on along the yellow line in the picture above were asked to shelter in place.

Angleton OEM said a shelter was open and located at the First Presbyterian Church at 130 South Arcola Street for residents.

The orders were lifted for residents around midnight.
