Ambulance crashes into Houston restaurant on S Gessner; 2 taken to hospital

A private ambulance crashed into the side of a Houston restaurant and rolled over, trapping the driver and a medic inside of the vehicle.

The crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. Thursday in the 5900 block of South Gessner.

Officials say it appears the ambulance was going southbound on South Gessner when it crossed over, struck the building and flipped.

Firefighters extricated the two people from the cab of the ambulance. The driver was last reported to be in critical condition and the medic reportedly sustained a broken arm.

No other injuries were reported.
