7 people hurt in two shootings in Houston’s Acres Homes area, police say

At least seven people were hurt in two shootings that happened in the Acres Homes area Sunday evening, Houston police said.

Around 6 p.m., HPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of Dolly Wright and Carver at Winzer Park in response to a shooting call.

According to Assistant Chief Ernest Garcia, when officers arrived they did not find any activity or anybody who had been shot. That's when people at the park pointed officers to an area down the street about a mile from the park.

While officers were on scene, they heard gunshots about a mile away. They arrived to find a female who was shot in the arm. Because of the proximity, it is believed the two shootings are related.

Police are looking for a small black or dark blue car, possibly an Audi or Mercedes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
