1 killed, 2 hospitalized from shooting at Bissonnet after-hours club

Authorities are uncovering more details into what caused a deadly shooting on Bissonnet overnight Sunday. 

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies were called to an after-hours lounge in the 13600 block of Bissonnet in southwest Houston.

Arkavious Parks was involved in a minor crash in the parking lot and was trying to intervene in an argument between a friend who was arguing with 31-year-old Damontez Sharp, officials say.

The argument escalated and Sharp pulled out a handgun and shot Parks, killing him. Sheriff Gonzalez says a security guard shot at Sharp, hitting him multiple times. 

Sharp then left the scene and went to a hospital where he was detained.

A woman in the parking lot was shot in the leg and was treated at an area hospital before being released.

According to officials, the security guard is coopering with investigators and will not be charged in the shooting.

Share was charged with murder and is in custody while he receives treatment for his injuries.
