Man shot, killed following apparent road rage in northwest Harris County

FOX 26’s Gabby Hart shares continuing coverage of a possible road rage shooting in northwest Harris County, where a man was killed.

A passenger died in an apparent road rage shooting on Beltway 8 in northwest Harris County, authorities say.

The shooting occurred around 10:50 a.m. Thursday as a man was driving a car westbound on the North Sam Houston Toll Road near the Veterans Memorial Toll Plaza.

According to authorities, the driver of the car reported that he was involved in a traffic altercation with another man in a crossover SUV.

As they exited the toll plaza, authorities say, the driver of the SUV fired multiple gunshots at the passenger side of the car, striking the passenger.

The car exited the toll road and went down Hollister, where the driver flagged down a deputy.

The wounded passenger died at the scene. The sheriff’s office says the victim was tentatively identified as Donnie Williams, 30.

The suspect is described only as a Black male in his 30s driving a dark-color crossover SUV.

The shooting remains under investigation.
