1 person dead in apartment fire in northwest Houston
Houston police are investigating after one person was killed in an apartment fire.
HOUSTON - Houston police are responding to a fatal apartment fire in northwest Houston.
The call came in at 2:45 p.m. at 9601 West Montgomery. Houston Fire Department requested Houston police meet firefighters on a fire fatality call.
Houston Police confirmed a woman was found deceased inside an apartment. A man who identified himself as the victim's son says she was known as "Momma Tiny" and was 67 years old. He adds she had health and mobility issues.
Houston Police add the fire appears to be accidental but arson investigators are still determining the cause.
