Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were called to a crash in the 490 block of Pine Forest Drive in Crosby just before 1 a.m. Sunday.

They found a Mazda sedan at the bottom of a steep bayou, with only the driver inside the vehicle.

Crosby EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Preliminary investigations reveal the driver was going westbound on Pine Forest Drive and went onto private property. He continued to drive through the property and fell into a steep bayou, then crashed into the opposite side of the bayou.

Investigators say the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The case is under investigation. The name of the driver has not been released.
