Murder suspect sought in Channelview-area shooting of woman
CHANNELVIEW, Texas (FOX 26) - A 29-year-old woman has died of an apparent gunshot to the chest and a man who she was seen arguing with early on Saturday morning has been charged with murder.
Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived at around 2:16 a.m. Saturday to a business of Market Street near Magnolia Street in the Channelview area and found the body of Edna McWorter.
Several witnesses told deputies that McWorter, 29, had been arguing with Jerry Wayne Greer, 38, when they saw him grab a handgun and shoot her in the chest. He was last seen driving away in a dark-colored Ford Mustang.
Greer was sought on felony charges of domestic assault and the Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted murder charges against him in the shooting death of McWorter.
