FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast

Today and tomorrow should be very similar to Monday with typical June warmth and scattered late day and evening storms. A few storms could be in the heavy side. Highs will run in the low 90s. Late this week, we expect slightly hotter afternoons with fewer showers. Early next week, a plume of tropical moisture is expected to move in from the Caribbean and will likely bring heavy rain to parts of the Gulf Coast anywhere from Texas to Louisiana and probably parts of Florida. It’s too early to be specific with location, but just stay alert for updates over the next few days.

Houston Weather: Heat and showers on the horizion

Summer season is right around the corner and we are really starting to feel the summer sizzle! Look for temperatures in the 90s this week with heat index values near 100. Spotty storms are possible, especially the next few days with lower rain chances Thursday - Saturday. A few storms could be strong to marginally severe late Tuesday mainly just west of Houston. Hail and brief strong wind gusts would be main threats. Tropics could get more active this weekend into early next week with a possible disturbance or gulf low developing. This could change but it looks like a plume of gulf moisture could be heading our way in about a week. Houston weather: Spotty showers in Houston

We are now in the second week of hurricane season and no tropical cyclone formation is expected over the next few days. However, long range models indicate a big plume of tropical moisture tracking north into the Gulf of Mexico later this week. There's also at least a low possibility of a disturbance or weak area of low pressure that could develop in the Bay of Campeche or Gulf of Mexico by this weekend. We are still several days out and this could change. But definitely be ready for an increased threat for rain in Houston by Sunday and Monday.
