Vehicle injuries leading cause of death for children

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study showed that motor vehicle injuries are the leading cause of death among children in the United States. Another study found that in one year, 618,000 children from ages 0-to-12 rode in vehicles without the use of a child safety seat, booster seat or a seat belt at least some of the time.

Motorcycle rider killed in North Freeway crash

All southbound lanes of the North Freeway have reopened following an early morning accident that ended with the death of a motorcycle rider and leaving a driver with serious injuries. Witnesses told police that the rider and the driver were racing each other at high speeds on the left lanes of Interstate 45.
