Festivities for Houston Astros home opener
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The Houston Astros are back at Minute Maid Park for their season home opener against the Oakland Athletics.
The game starts at 7:10 p.m., but there’s plenty to see and do at the ball park before then.
The Street Fest begins at 2:30 p.m. and is open to anyone with a ticket to the game. Fans can enjoy live music, games, food trucks, face painters and more. Entrances to Street Fest are located at Left Field Gate, Center Field Gate and the Atrium Entrance.
The Opening Day pregame ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m. Former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush will be recognized with a special tribute honoring them as “some of the greatest Astros fans in franchise history.” The son Neil Bush and grandsons Pierce Bush and George P. Bush will be in attendance.
After the game, fans can stick around for a firework show.
