Channelview QB Jalen Hurts is FOX 26's 2015 recipient of the Greater Houston Honda Player of the Year.

Hurts accounted for over 50 touchdowns this season and led Channelview to their first playoff berth in over 20 years. He is verbally committed to play his college football at Alabama. With all this, he is also a National Merit Scholar.

Greater Houston Honda presented Hurts with a trophy for his efforts and also presented Channelview with a $3,000 check. Jalen's father, Channelview head coach Averion Hurts, told FOX 26's Chris Stipes the goal is to use that money to help future Channelview kids attend college.
