Northeast Houston Health & Community Fair
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The Office of New Americans & Immigrant Communities is hosting an event to help people in a seven-mile radius in northeast Houston that was greatly affected by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. The affected section is located between Tidwell Road, Green River Road and Mason Drive.
75 percent of the people who live in that section of northeast Houston come from low-income minority families. Many of them lack access to transportation, groceries or health resources.
The Northeast Houston Health & Community Fair is taking place at Hilliard Elementary School on 8115 East Houston Road and ends at 2 p.m. Saturday. The event will include the following:
- available recovery services
- legal advice
- financial aid
- home repairs
- transportation
- food
- medical and dental screenings
