Motorcycle rider killed in North Freeway crash
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - All southbound lanes of the North Freeway have reopened following an early morning accident that ended with the death of a motorcycle rider and leaving a driver with serious injuries. Witnesses told police that the rider and the driver were racing each other at high speeds on the left lanes of Interstate 45.
The truck and motorcycle crashed into each other, causing the truck to flip and forcing the motorcycle to strike a center divider before sliding across all lanes into a grassy median.
Some people performed CPR on the motorcycle rider, but he was later pronounced dead.
Firefighters had to remove the driver from the truck. That driver was taken by ambulance to a hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive.
Police are trying to determine why a third truck flipped over on the freeway nearby, leaving damage to that vehicle.
