HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department has provided an update after a suspect sought in connection to an incident on a METRORail stabbing is now in custody.
HPD said the suspect, who has not yet been identified, was located inside a church in the Heights on Wednesday evening.
METRO Transit Marshal's said they received a tip that the suspect frequented the church.
They were conducting surveillance on the church when they saw the suspect and the standoff ensued.
Officials said they saw a suspect also had an outstanding warrant from the Harris County Sheriff's Department.
As officers went inside the office, the man got out of the window and threatened to jump.
After talking with the man, he did surrender to officers.

Authorities said the man will be taken to be evaluated by the jail medical and psychological staff.
