Heavy winds cause more than 100,000 CenterPoint Energy customers to be without power across Houston

HOUSTON - As heavy winds pushed through across the Houston area Thursday, CenterPoint Energy reported more than 100,00 customers are without power. 

Crews are working to remedy the power outages but said due to high winds, the numbers continued to rise throughout the day. 

As of 3:20 p.m., 102,008 customers are without power. By 6:30 p.m., officials reported 60, 977 customers were without power.
