HISD video deepens doubts about leadership - What's Your Point?

Video obtained by the Houston Chronicle through an open record request shows trustees during a training session back in October. In the meeting, trustees were supposed to be talking about how to govern, however, some trustees stated that they had felt attacked.

In the video you see trustee Wanda Adams get up and move towards trustee Elizabeth Santos as a TEA officials steps in between them.

“There’s a lot of things that was opened up that day that has been going on for a long time and now it has been exposed. So now a lot of heat that I have been taking not just me but other board members for so long and having to hold it in and not to say anything. That day I just had to say what was on my mind,” says trustee Wanda Adams.

This all came days after several board members abruptly voted to oust Interim Superintendent Grenita Lathan, who was later re-instated.

On Monday night, trustees came on the Isiah Factor Uncensored on FOX 26 to talk about the video.

“They are deciding HISD business outside of the HISD board and they already have their votes and they already have who's going to make them and then they come in flossing,” says trustee Jolanda Jones.

“This is the first time out of all these years that I have seen action of elected officials like this and how they have total control and they know that they do and they act like that so they control everything they can about you or not invite you to the board meetings. They can say what they want to say, they can do what they want to do,” says trustee Adams.

This week's panel: Jessica Colon - Republican strategist, Nyanza Davis Moore - Democratic Political Commentator Attorney, Bob Price – Associate Editor of Breitbart Texas,  Antonio Diaz- writer, educator and radio host,  Tomaro Bell – Super Neighborhood leader, Ben Streusand – conservative commentator, “Three Amigos”, KSEV Radio  discuss the video showing HISD board members at a training session last October.
