Five players from the Houston Astros made the roster for the 2018 MLB All-Star Game.
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is the first Astros player in franchise history to be the top vote-getter for the All-Star Game. Altuve will start for the American League at second base in the All-Star Game. Altuve is the second member of the Astros to start four games. Craig Biggio was the first.
Also making the All-Star team from the Houston Astros are George Springer for the second consecutive year, Alex Bregman for the first time in his brief career, Gerrit Cole for the second time in his career, and Justin Verlander for the seventh time in his career.
