Working with your insurance after your vehicle floods

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Dozens of cars have been flooded out from the rain this week, and the threat isn't gone as we brace for more severe weather.

Adam Rust, an insurance agent with Helix Insurance Group, was on Houston’s Morning Show with advice on working with your insurance after your vehicle floods.

Rust says the first thing you want to do is contact your insurance agent. They will help you file a claim.

He says you should also take as many pictures as you can. The more pictures the better.

After you file a claim, it may take three to six weeks for your claim to be processed depending on the size of the disaster.
