Ground search resumes for missing 4-year-old Maleah Davis
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Texas Equusearch is resuming the ground search for 4-year-old Maleah Davis in southwest Houston this morning.
Heavy rains on Tuesday left the search area flooded on Wednesday and caused Texas Equusearch to suspend their ground search. They searched by air instead.
According to Texas Equusearch founder Tim Miller, they took a helicopter along the Brazos River all the way from the Gulf of Mexico to Highway 59. They rode the chopper looking for any sign of Maleah or the missing silver Nissan Altima.

Houston police released new photos Wednesday of that car that Maleah was believed to have been riding in when she was allegedly abducted on Friday night. The photos of the silver Nissan Altima were taken before Maleah went missing. The car hasn't been seen since her disappearance. It has Texas paper plates reading 330-92G9.
Crews were initially looking for Maleah in northeast Houston but shifted search efforts to southwest Houston on Tuesday. Texas Equusearch is setting up a command post near the apartments where the girl is said to have lived with her mom and stepdad when she went missing.

A Houston police investigator told FOX 26 Maleah’s stepfather Darion Vence is a person of interest in her disappearance.
Police say Vence claims he, Maleah and his 1-year-old son were ambushed by three men in a 2010 blue Chevrolet pick up Friday night in northeast Houston.
Sugar Land police say Darion Vence told investigators conflicting information. They say he first said he walked to the hospital after regaining consciousness Saturday following the alleged abduction. Then, Sugar Land police say he changed his story to say he was dropped off there by someone in a vehicle.
