Houston reaches 100 degrees for the first time in 2018

The National Weather Service says Houston has reached triple-digit temperatures for the first time in 2018.

According to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston, Houston Intercontinental hit 100 on Sunday.

 

A Heat Advisory is in effect Sunday for Houston from noon to 8 p.m. Another Heat Advisory has been issued for Monday from noon to 9 p.m.

Officials remind everyone to stay hydrated, check on vulnerable neighbors and loved ones, limit outdoor activities during the afternoon hours and bring pets inside.

Cooling centers are also open around the Houston area to help people escape the potentially dangerous heat.
